I adopt a medieval English persona who really enjoys spangled gowns. I’ve been interested in medieval cuisine as a culinary flavor for some time. I try to adhere to the original recipes as closely as possible, but my primary goal is to create food that a modern diner will enjoy. This includes diners who have food allergies and intolerances.
I intend this collection of recipes to be used as a resource for historical reenactors who plan to serve medieval food and need to make accommodations for their guests. These recipes are authentic to the pre-1600 time period, and have been tested by the contributor. I encourage anyone to add to this body of knowledge by submitting an original recipe and/or sharing their own redactions in the comments sections.
